Our Manufacturing Facilities
Our 110,000 square foot Ultra Dairy processing facility located in East Syracuse, New York ultra-pasteurizes milk to 285 degrees and is dramatically changing the way we all look at how products can be delivered to market. We specialty - pack Extended Shelf Life (ESL) dairy and non-dairy products and offer cutting-edge aseptic processing and packaging. Our Ultra Dairy facility is like no other dairy plant in the Upstate, New York area. We’ve seen the future of dairy products…and we have made the necessary investment and commitment to take great tasting milk and creams farther than ever before.
Our 30,000 square foot Ice Cream Plant, located in Syracuse, New York uses advanced processing equipment to yield the creamiest ice cream products possible. This is also the location where we package our well-loved creams from our New York State dairies. Some of the most recognized names in chocolate — names like Oreos, Heath bar, Gertrude Hawk, etc. — are mixed into our products right here.
At our Fluid Milk Facility in Syracuse, New York, the Byrne Dairy truck fleet arrives every day to drop off the best local raw milk to be used in products that range from milk to cream and everything in between. With a total of 157,000 square feet, we’ve got the capacity to package dairy and non-dairy products in plastic blown bottles, specialized cartons and a comprehensive variety of packaging configurations. From here, we service some of the largest retailers in the world along with smaller, regionalized retail outlets, hospitals, food services and more.

Packaging and shipping ½ billion pounds of milk each year represents a huge responsibility. Aside from standing behind the flavor, freshness, and quality of each and every product that leaves our facilities, we stand behind the safety of them as well. Keeping all of our products safe is our top priority.
Our concern for safety — both for our products and our people — has garnered awards as well as a reputation for being industry leaders in this area. As an example, Byrne Dairy has a working relationship with Homeland Security to document our procedures as the safest possible…for our products, our staff, and most importantly, the consuming public.
Our award-winning truck fleet is also considered the safest in New York State. Our drivers know that we have something worth delivering, so we don’t cut corners to make sure that it arrives safely ‘home’ during even the most adverse weather conditions.

Earth Conscious
It’s a responsibility to our community, local, national, and global to maintain sustainable practices as a business. Byrne Dairy is highly aware of the need to make our facilities environmentally sound. Our packaging practices have changed recently to a ‘less is more’ approach, and we implement resource recovery strategies for plastics, paper, and milk crates.
We also installed new lighting in our facilities and use a wastewater recovery system as well. Byrne Dairy is constantly exploring new ways to reduce packaging materials usage, and redesign accordingly. We fully understand the need to keep the earth a healthy place... so our cows, our farmers, our employees, and eventually the milk on your table, are top quality.
